Pune: Major Fire Breaks Out at MNGL Pipeline on Salunke Vihar Road, Five Fire Brigade Vehicles on Spot

A major fire broke out earlier today at the Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) pipeline near Nala Park on Salunke Vihar Road, sending shockwaves through the area. The blaze quickly spread, causing panic among residents and passersby.

Responding swiftly to the emergency, a team from MNGL and fire brigade officials rushed to the spot. Five firefighting vehicles, including two water tankers, were deployed to combat the flames. The Pune Fire Brigade Department was alerted about the fire at 12:07 pm, prompting an immediate response.

The intensity of the fire was so severe that it resulted in the destruction of a nearby vehicle. The flames posed a grave threat to the surrounding area, necessitating the urgent action of the fire brigade.

Efforts are underway to swiftly extinguish the fire and assess the extent of the damage. The safety of residents and the efficient restoration of normalcy are of utmost importance to the local authorities, who are working diligently to bring the situation under control.

Sandeep Jagtap, a social activist from Wanowrie, promptly contacted the MNGL representative to shut off the gas supply until the fire is extinguished and necessary precautions are taken before resuming the supply. An MNGL official confirmed that a team has been dispatched to the site to control the fire, and further action will be taken accordingly.

Sahil Kedari, Vice President of the OBC Cell in Maharashtra Congress, reported that a vehicle was also damaged in the incident. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined, and investigations will be conducted to ascertain the root cause and prevent similar incidents in the future.
