Pune: Food Vendor and His Wife Brutally Assaulted in Bhosari, Three Arrested

In a shocking incident in Bhosari, Pune, a food vendor and his wife were brutally assaulted by a group of goons for allegedly refusing to provide them with food. The Pimpri Chinchwad Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the assault. The accused also threatened the food vendor, claiming to be influential figures in Bhosari and warning that non-compliance would result in severe consequences, including death.

The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 pm on Thursday. According to the police, the victim was acquainted with the attackers. The accused attacked the food vendor and his wife with an iron rod, inflicting serious injuries, purportedly because they did not serve them “anda bhurji” (a popular egg dish) and “paav” (bread). The perpetrators allegedly demanded obedience from the vendor, asserting their dominance in the area.

The authorities have apprehended three suspects identified as Pillya alias Sudarshan Rakshe (23), Karan Gurunath Rathod (25), and Patya alias Prathamesh Dilip Kamble (20), all residents of Bhosari. One additional suspect, whose identity is yet to be determined, is currently at large.

A case has been registered at the Bhosari police station under sections 397 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with section 4(25) of the Arms Act, Section 3 and 7 of the Criminal Law Amendment Act, and Section 37(1) of the Maharashtra Police Act. The authorities are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter to gather more evidence and ascertain the complete sequence of events.
