Pune: Due to recurring incidences of family disputes with wife and anger of wife for not giving him a divorce, the accused husband killed his wife and then registered a false complaint of wife’s missing at Lonikand police station. This filmy-style criminal act took place on October 28, 2023, and in this case, police have now held the accused after gathering necessary evidence regarding it.

The accused, identified as Amolsingh Murali Jadhav, 26, killed his 38-year-old wife, Lalita Amolsingh Jadhav, on October 28. Both were husband and wife and were living in Phulgaon village in Taluka Haveli.

Police informed that, due to family pressure, the accused, Amolsingh Jadhav, married Lalita, who was older than him by 12 years. However, they did not have a happy marriage. They were both having constant arguments, and Lalita was not ready to divorce her husband. Due to constant disputes over trivial reasons, the accused was always disturbed.

Therefore, the accused decided to kill her wife. Accordingly, he took his wife to the Mandhardevi for darshan on October 28. While going for the darshan, he, in between Mandhardevi and Wai mountain pass, asked his driver to park the car in the parking lot near the temple, and then they both walked from the mountain pass towards the temple.

While walking towards the temple, seeing that there was no one on the road, the accused pushed his wife Lalita down the slope into the valley. However, the wife got stuck in the bushes 20 feet down. After that, the accused got down the valley and killed her by strangling her throat. He then pushed down her body to destroy any evidence.

Subsequently, the accused falsely reported her wife missing to the Lonikand police station. While the police were investigating the missing woman, the investigation revealed that the accused killed and threw her body from the mountain slope with the intention of destroying the evidence.

Accordingly, police apprehended and registered the accused under IPC 302, 201, and 182 on the complaint of police constable Prakash Narayan Avale on Sunday, January 14. Further investigation is being conducted by Senior Police Inspector Vishwajeet Kaingade.
