Pune: Land acquired in 14 villages for ring road project

PUNE: More than 200 acres of land has been acquired in 14 villages in eastern and western parts for the ring road project being executed by MSRDC. The district administration has succeeded in acquiring more than 10 per cent of the total land to be acquired, in three months.

The MSRDC has undertaken the work of executing the ring road project (172 km long and width of 110 metres) to solve the problem of traffic congestion. The work will be executed in eastern and western parts. In the eastern part, the ring road will pass through 11 villages in Maval taluka, 12 talukas in Khed taluka, 15 talukas in Haveli taluka, five talukas in Purandar talukas and three talukas in Bhor talukas. In western parts, the ring road will pass through five talukas in Bhor taluka, 11 talukas in Haveli taluka, 15 talukas in Mulshi taluka and six talukas in Maval taluka. Land measuring 750 hectares in 44 villages have to be acquired.

The district administration has started the process of land acquisition in western part from July 5. Notices were sent to the affected persons and they were told to give consent letters by July 30. However, due to PM Modi’s visit and other reasons, the deadline was extended till August 21.

Accordingly, by this deadline, 200 acres of land was acquired in 14 villages. Land in four villages has been acquired in four villages for the ring road in the eastern part. Land has been acquired in 10 villages for the ring road in the western part. In these 14 villages, 934 account holders in 232 groups have been handed over ₹276 crore as compensation, informed Prant Officer of Haveli Sanjay Aswale.

Villages in eastern parts: Koregaon Mul, Gavdewadi, Bivri and Wadebolhai

Villages in western parts: Kalyan, Khamgaon, Maval, Bhagatwadi, Rahatvade, Vaddare, Sangrun, Bahuli, Mordarwadi, Thoptewadi, Mandvi Budruk
