Pune: Kondhwa Khurd-Based Couple Received On-Call Rape and Killing Threat; Police Issued Warning Notice to Accused

Pune Crime News

Pune: In the residential Kondhwa Khurd area of Pune, a disturbing incident of a man calling a woman and threatening to rape her came to light after a 28-year-old woman filed a police complaint in this regard. This incident took place on January 7 at the plaintiff’s house in Kondhwa.

On January 7, the plaintiff was at her house as it was a holiday. At that time, suddenly, one of the plaintiff’s acquaintances called her on her mobile phone. When the plaintiff received the phone, the accused, identified as Dilip kumar Venachand Jain, started speaking in abusive and salacious languages with the plaintiff. Further, he also threatened to rape her.

Shockingly, when the plaintiff’s husband, sitting nearby, confronted the accused about this, Jain also audaciously threatened him with killing. The plaintiff mentioned that after this incident, she received many such calls from different people.

Distressed by this fact, the woman immediately filed a complaint at Kondhwa Police Station. Based on it, the police registered a complaint against the accused and other unknown mobile phone holders under IPC 354(d), 504, and 507. The Kondhwa police also issued notice to the accused under Section 41(1) of the CrPC. In this case, Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Thorat is conducting further investigation.

In response to the recent allegations made against the accused, when a Pune. News correspondent called him and inquired about them, the accused vehemently refuted all charges, declaring the charges as false and entirely baseless.

Shedding light on the sequence of events, the accused disclosed that the origin of the issue traces back to a loan he took from Kotak Mahindra Bank for personal reasons a few years ago.
Facing financial constraints, the accused acknowledged his inability to repay the loan within the stipulated time frame. Subsequently, the plaintiff woman initially contacted him, demanding immediate repayment of the loan. On that, when the accused sought her a time-concession due to his financial circumstances, he was subsequently met with verbal abuse from her.
The situation escalated further as the lady started calling people from the accused’s contact list, including his mother, sister, and relatives, in violation of RBI guidelines. On call, she started labelling the accused as a thief, using contemptuous language while communicating with some of his relatives.

Upon intervention by the accused’s brother, who reminded her of the regulatory guidelines and warned of a formal complaint if the harassment persisted, the enraged lady engaged in a heated argument with the accused’s brother and also subjected him to verbal abuse.

Fearing the consequences of her actions, the accused alleged that the lady deceitfully filed a complaint against him and his relatives, playing the victim card. The accused further emphasised the falsehood of the date mentioned in the lady’s complaint, asserting that no such communication took place on the claimed day.
