In a recent development, the NCP city unit Chief, Prashant Jagtap, has firmly stated that the agreement of NCP’s party office in Pune is registered under his name. As the city unit chief, he has taken this measure to ensure that no other group can unlawfully take over the office premises. He asserted his right to lodge a formal complaint with the police in case of any unauthorized attempts to seize control, safeguarding the party’s interests and integrity.
Following a meeting of the NCP city unit’s working committee, Prashant Jagtap addressed journalists, shedding light on the resolutions and plans. One of the key resolutions was their unequivocal support for Sharad Pawar, the prominent leader of the party. In a show of solidarity, around 300 to 350 activists, including senior members and newly appointed office-bearers, are set to attend the party’s upcoming meeting in Mumbai.
The city unit chief emphasized that the recent factional disputes within the party might escalate into a legal battle. To prevent any further internal division, all activists and office-bearers present at the meeting signed a declaration, expressing their allegiance to the NCP led by Sharad Pawar.
Despite the absence of some prominent figures like former corporator and MLA Chetan Tupe and MLA Sunil Tingre at the meeting, Jagtap confirmed the participation of MLAs in the upcoming meeting scheduled by Sharad Pawar in Mumbai.
Prashant Jagtap also revealed that a considerable majority of 23 out of 44 corporators attended the meeting, signifying a strong support base within the city unit.
