Pune: Hearings on pending 374 land-related cases kept pending by corrupt official Anil Ramod to be held again

PUNE: The hearings on the 374 land cases kept pending by former addl divisional commissioner Dr Anil Ramod, will be held again. After Ramod was arrested by the CBI, he has been suspended and Annasaheb Chavan has been appointed in his place. Chavan is again going to hold hearings of pending land cases.

The CBI’s anti corruption department had arrested Ramod red handed for accepting a bribe of ₹8 lakh. Raids were carried out on Ramod’s residences in Pune and Nanded. He was arrested later. As a result, he has been suspended. Because of this incident, hearings on all land-related cases in five districts of Pune division had stopped. The government has appointed Annasaheb Chavan in his place.

While working as addl divisional commissioner, Ramod had not given his ruling in 374 land-related cases. According to the rules, new Addl Divisional Commissioner Chavan is going to conduct hearings in these cases and give his ruling. Along with the pending cases, Chavan is also going to conduct daily hearings of other cases, according to the divisional commissionerate.

Additional Divisional Commissioner (Revenue), Pune Division, Annasaheb Chavan said, “The then addl divisional commissioner had conducted hearings but had not given his ruling. There are many such cases. Hence, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao has issued orders that new hearings should be conducted of these cases. Accordingly, new hearings will be held of these pending cases. We are planning to conduct 60 to 70 hearings every day from Monday to Friday.”
