Pune Guardian Minister Inspects Pune Metro Stations Ahead of Inauguration by PM Modi

Pune – 29th July 2023: With the much-anticipated inauguration of the Phugewadi to Civil Court and Garware College to Ruby Hall lines of the Pune Metro scheduled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, State Higher and Technical Education Minister and District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil took charge by conducting a thorough inspection of the Ruby Hall, Civil Court, and Shivaji Nagar metro stations. As part of his assessment, he also personally experienced the metro ride between Ruby Hall Station and Shivaji Nagar Metro Station.

Accompanied by MLA Siddharth Shirole, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar, Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Collector Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh, Metro Executive Director Dr. Muralidhar Mohol, Rajesh Pande, and other dignitaries, Guardian Minister Patil meticulously examined the metro stations to ensure they are fully prepared for the upcoming grand inauguration.

The minister expressed his enthusiasm for the new metro routes, emphasizing that they will establish efficient connectivity between Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities, making it easier for commuters to access key areas within Pune. The newly launched routes will facilitate travel to crucial locations such as Shivaji Nagar, Civil Court, RTO, Pune Railway Station, PMC, Sambhaji Garden, and Deccan, significantly benefiting the citizens of Pune.

Guardian Minister Patil also highlighted the positive impact the metro line is expected to have on the city’s transportation landscape. By providing a superior and efficient travel option, the Pune Metro is poised to alleviate traffic congestion and contribute to a more sustainable urban environment.

To further enhance the commuting experience, the authorities have arranged for electric buses and parking facilities near metro stations. Guardian Minister Patil encouraged citizens to embrace the metro as their preferred mode of travel, not only for its convenience but also for its contribution to reducing the city’s carbon footprint.

During his inspection, Guardian Minister Patil also took the opportunity to interact with the metro driver, extending his appreciation for their dedication in ensuring smooth and safe operations.

The Pune Metro’s expansion has been a significant step forward in transforming the city’s public transportation system. The current network spans 23.66 km with a total of 21 stations in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad cities, offering improved connectivity and cutting travel time by 50 percent. The seamless coordination with PMPML services in Deccan, Shivajinagar, and Pune Municipalities is expected to further enhance commuter convenience and accessibility.

As the city eagerly awaits the inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Guardian Minister Patil’s hands-on inspection ensures that everything is in place to make the event a resounding success. The Pune Metro’s expansion is a testament to the city’s commitment to modernizing its transportation infrastructure and embracing sustainable mobility solutions.
