Pune: Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil appeals to police to crack down on the drug trade

PIMPRI: Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil while speaking at a programme organised by Pune Union of Working Journalists in Pimpri has appealed to the police to control the increasing use of drugs by youths in Pimpri Chinchwad and Pune. Citizens were also present along with police personnel at the programme. Patil also said that Police Commissioner Vinoy Kumar Choubey will be in Pimpri Chinchwad for two years.

“The police work day and night to ensure that everyone gets sound sleep. The use of drugs is increasing in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad and the youths are being led on the wrong path. To control this, the police should ‘go out of their way.’ The Damini Squads should be strengthened and it should create fear in the minds of criminals. Force should be used in such a way that problems should be solved because of fear,” Patil added.
