Tragic Accident on Mumbai Pune Expressway Leaves 2 Dead and 4 Injured

In a devastating incident that occurred on the Mumbai Pune Expressway near the Afcon office, close to Dheku village, a container truck crashed through the crash barrier and divider, subsequently colliding with three cars on the Pune-bound lane. The unfortunate accident has resulted in the loss of two lives and left four individuals injured. The injured victims have been rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention. The incident took place at approximately 9:30 AM.

Tanaji Chikhale, the Superintendent of Police at HSP, Raigad, shared the distressing news on Twitter. He stated, “Traffic from Mumbai to Pune is being diverted through Khopoli. Our teams are working diligently to swiftly clear the Pune-bound lane.”

A highway police official provided further details, revealing that three cars were involved in the tragic collision. The container truck overturned during the accident, causing the untimely demise of two passengers while injuring four others. The injured victims have been transported to the MGM hospital for necessary medical treatment and care. In light of the accident, the flow of vehicular traffic has been redirected to the Khopoli road to facilitate swift response and recovery operations.
