Pune: Ganpati immersion procession! Performance of women’s lezim, dhol tasha and cymbal troupes win hearts of people

PUNE: Women participated in large numbers in the Ganpati immersion procession this year. The dhol tasha troupes, flag troupes and lezim troupes witnessed participation of many women. However, what grabbed everybody’s attention was the performance of women lezim players in front of the fifth revered Kesariwada Ganpati.

Puneites went into a frenzy amidst the chanting of ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya’ and performance of dhol tasha troupes. A flag team from NMV Girls School gave a display in a disciplined manner before the deity of Guruji Talim Mandal.

A women’s lezim troupe won the hearts of the people by its different performance in front of the fifth revered Kesariwada Ganpati. Citizens also swayed to the beats of the lezim.

There were many women participants in the cymbal troupe and overall, women took part in the immersion procession in large numbers. Many women and girls turned up to witness the immersion procession.
