Pune: Forcible conversions! Hindu Jangarjana Morcha organises meet

PUNE: Many Hindus are getting trapped in the racket of religious conversion and despite lodging complaints, the police are turning a blind eye. A woman resident of Shinde Vasti recently had to face this problem. A meeting was organised by Hindu Jangarjana Morcha and the Hindu community at Magarpatta Chowk.

MLA Ram Satpute said, “Incidents of poor and economically backward people of Hindu community are being targeted. However, the police are not paying serious attention to this issue. The PI of Hadapsar police station is registering fake FIRs. I am going to raise my voice in the assembly that the PI should be transferred.”

“I am going to raise a calling attention motion that a Hindu conversion law should be implemented in the state. Injustice has been done to a woman for many years. She is demanding that an FIR should be registered but instead an FIR is being registered against her. In the future, Hindus will not tolerate such fake cases. Conversion is being carried out under the pretext of superstition. The police should pay attention to this. Deputy CM and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis will never forgive this,” he added.

Former MLA Yogesh Tilekar, Shiv Sena City Chief Nana Bhangire, former corporator Maruti Tupe, former corporator Ujjwala Jungle, Vijaya Wadkar, Sandip Dalvi, Bhushan Tupe, Nitin Hole, Swati Kurne, Subhash Jungle, Manohar Deshmukh, Sandip Lonkar, Shivraj Gule, Shailendra Belhekar, Ravi Tupe, Abhijeet Borate, Jeevan Jadhav, Pramod Satav, Vikas Bhujbal, Dr Dada Kodre, Popat Wadkar were present.

“All citizens are being allowed to enter the police station and their complaints are also registered. Legal action is being taken after considering the facts. There was a financial dispute between two families at Shinde Vasti. Since both have lodged complaints, cross FIRs have been registered. There is no basis in allegations being made against the police. The functioning of the police station is taking place as per rules and legal manner,” said Sr PI of Hadapsar police station Ravindra Shelke.
