Pune: Emergency medical aid provided to 395 patients; Lives of three critical patients saved

PUNE: With the coordination between BVG and Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services Dial 108, 23 ambulances had been kept ready in the Ganeshotsav 2023. Till September 28, 395 people have been treated. District Manager Dr Priyank Javle said that three serious patients were provided emergency medical treatment and their lives had been saved.

The ambulances had been deployed at various places on the immersion route. The main complaints were giddiness in crowded areas, chest pain, fall, minor injuries. A trained doctor and a trained driver is available in the ambulance for 24 hours.

In Mangalwar Peth, 21-year-old Chandrashekhar Chankalwar had become unconscious near Narayan Peth police chowki due to hypoglycemia. An ambulance was sent to the area and she was given immediate medical treatment. She was admitted to the Sassoon Hospital and her life was saved.

Aishwarya Dilip Mehta, a 27-year-old resident of near Vijay Talkies on Laxmi Road, had become immobile and was in severe pain. A preliminary diagnosis of femur fracture was made. She was given immediate treatment by doctors of Dial 108 and was shifted to Poona Hospital for further treatment.

In the nine year duration, Dial 108 has provided service to 823 patients during the Ganeshotsav and medical teams have provided on the spot treatment to 3,069 patients.

District Manager Dr Priyank Javal said, “The Maharashtra Emergency Medical Services has been providing service since 10 years to patients during the Ganeshotsav. This effective and trustworthy service can be availed by calling on toll free Dial 108 number during emergencies.”
