PUNE: Dehu Road Cantonment Board (DCB) President Brigadier Aman Katoch said in the General Body of the cantonment that the higher authorities of the security department have stayed the decision to merge the cantonment with the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. Approval was given for various development works. A decision was taken to install CCTV cameras at key areas in the Dehu market. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Brigadier Katoch. CEO Amitkumar Mane, nominated member Ad Kailas Pansare and Amit Rohtagi were present.
An approval was given for recruiting a chief medical officer at the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital as per the waiting list. A NoC was given for construction of an auditorium opposite the Maruti temple from the MLA fund. A proposal of renting out shops in the cantonment commercial complex was approved.
A proposal to rent out open spaces of the board at Shitala Nagar, Shankarwadi and Somatane Phata and hoarding at the main chowk was approved. A decision was taken to implement pay and park system in the Dehu Road market for improving the flow of traffic and taking action against those obstructing traffic.
The professional teaching centre and Sardar Umabai Dabhade School at Koteshwarwadi have been closed for lack of students. CEO Mane tabled a proposal for starting a skill development centre at the school for generating employment for interested youths. The president approved the proposal. The proposal to purchase raincoats for cleaning staff was also okayed.
Proposals of constructing underground gutters (₹40 lakh), asphalting of the road between Mamurdi to Shagun Society (₹31.95 lakh), MB Camp School road (₹15.35 lakh), compost project road at Indrayani Darshan (₹4.06 lakh), Siddhivinayaknagari Road (₹12.45 lakh), Development of Chincholi garden (₹17 lakh), lifting of biomedical waste (₹1.69 lakh) and purchase of GI pipes at Hindu and Christian cemetery (1.91 lakh) were approved.
