The menace of drug addiction among the youth is a growing concern that requires immediate attention and action. In response to this pressing issue, Superintendent of Police (Pune rural), Ankit Goyal, and Assistant SP Satyasai Karthik of Lonavala Sub-Division have initiated the “Dahihandi Sankalp” campaign. This innovative endeavor is dedicated to promoting drug-free living and spreading awareness about the perils of substance abuse.

As part of the broader “Nashamukti” (addiction-free) campaign, the esteemed “Swatantra Theater Group” took center stage to deliver a compelling message during the Dahihandi festival, organized by the Maval Varta Foundation in the Lonavala City Police Station area. The street play, titled ‘Sankalp Nashamukti,’ held an audience of approximately 5000 individuals captive, conveying a powerful message that urges young people to refrain from all forms of drug consumption.

During the event, ASP Satyasai Karthik addressed the gathering and provided the mantra for liberation from drug addiction. The occasion witnessed the active participation of Police Inspector of Lonavla City Police Station, Sitaram Dubal, Lonavla City Police Staff, as well as officials from the Maval Varta Foundation and concerned members of the public.

The “Dahihandi Sankalp Nashamukti” campaign signifies a significant stride in the battle against drug addiction. Its primary objective is to create a drug-free and healthier environment for the youth in Lonavala. This initiative is not merely a campaign but a collective commitment to safeguarding the future of our young generation from the perils of substance abuse.
