Pune: CP Ritesh Kumar takes action against notorious criminal under MPDA Act

PUNE: Pune Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar has taken a detainment action against notorious criminal Nazeer Salim Shaikh (29), a resident of Bhavani Peth, who was spreading terror in the limits of Khadak police station under the MPDA Act.

Five serious crimes like attempt to murder, fighting, possessing sharp weapons, robbery, issuing threats, beating up of the common man, extortion and creating terror are registered against the accused Nazir Shaikh at the Khadak police station since 2019. Shaikh had been externed for two years in 2023 for two years to control his criminal activities. He has committed crimes even after externment.

Sr PI Sunil Mane of Khadak police station had submitted a proposal of detainment of the accused Nazir Shaikh to the police commissioner. After checking the proposal and attached documents, the police commissioner issued an order that the accused should be detained at the Amravati Central Jail for a year.

The action was taken under the guidance of Police Commissioner Ritesh Kumar, Joint CP Sandeep Karnik, Addl CP Pravinkumar Patil, DCP Sandeep Singh Gill, ACP Ashok Dhumal by Sr PI Sunil Mane, PI Sampatrao Raut, API Rakesh Jadhav, PSI Atul Bankar, policemen Nitin Jadhav, Mahesh Pawar and Swapnil Bandal.
