Pune: Builder duped of Rs 87 lakh by not paying deal cost, selling flats to third party

Pune: One often comes across incidents where builders do not hand over flats to their clients even after taking the entire amount and cheating them. However, a woman bought three flats from a developer, who had paid stamp duty for the same. However, the woman cheated them by selling these flats to other people without paying the full cost to the builder.

Rafique Salemohammad Jafrani (62), a resident of Gultekdi, lodged a complaint at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Station in this regard. Nutan Dilip Shinolikar (39), a resident of Dhankawadi, has been booked. The incident took place at the Deputy Registrar’s office, Haveli from March 30, 2020 till date.

According to the police, Shinolikar bought three flats at the cost of over Rs 1.31 crore developed by the complainant at Hamy Park. The stamp duty for the flats of Rs 87.29 lakh was paid by the complainant. The accused paid the complainant Rs 52.50 lakh. She had to pay the remaining Rs 87.29 lakh. However, she sold the flats to other people for her personal gain and cheated the complainant. API Bhabad is investigating the case.
