Pune BJP Faces Internal Turmoil as Worker Targets Lok Sabha Aspirant Murlidhar Mohol

In a surprising turn of events, a banner targeting Lok Sabha aspirant Murlidhar Mohol appeared near the Municipal Corporation premises, exposing internal discord within the Pune Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The origins of the banner remain unclear, and municipal security guards swiftly removed it upon discovery.

Murlidhar Mohol, the subject of the banner, has chosen not to comment on the internal party dispute, opting instead to visit Shirdi to pay homage to Sai Baba.

The appearance of the controversial banner near the Municipal Corporation premises underscores the existing factional tensions within the Pune BJP. However, party officials, including BJP Pune President Dheeraj Ghate, have publicly denounced the act as an attempt to disrupt the city’s atmosphere in the run-up to elections.

Ghate dismissed the banner as a childish move and emphasized that such tactics hold no sway over candidate selection decisions. He stressed that this behavior contradicts the values of the Bharatiya Janata Party and suggested that the banner might be the work of opposition forces.

Ghate firmly asserted that an individual’s reputation cannot be tarnished through such means, reiterating that nomination decisions are solely the prerogative of party leaders and remain unaffected by external displays.
