PUNE: The ANC of Pune police Crime Branch has seized Mephedrone worth ₹2.14 lakh after being tipped off by the Military Intelligence. Four persons have been arrested and goods worth ₹3.24 lakh have been seized from them. The action was taken on Tuesday at 11.30 pm on the road opposite Snehadeep bungalow in Shukrawar Peth.
Ronit Bipoon Khade (19), a resident of Sinhagad Road, Chaitanya Shivaji Savle (27), a resident of Kirkitwadi, Sarth Virendra Khare (19), a resident of Sinhagad Road and Vishal Kamlesh Mehta (19), a resident of Sinhagad Road. The police are searching for Anush Jotiba Mane, a resident of Ghorpade Peth. An FIR has been registered against the accused under the NDPS Act. API Dnyaneshwar Laxman Ghorpade of ANC has lodged a complaint.
Officers and policemen of ANC 1 were patrolling in the limits of Khadak police station. They saw that four people were suspiciously moving about opposite Shenhadeep bungalow in Shukrawar Peth. The police apprehended them and searched them and found 10 gm MD powder worth ₹2.14 lakh. When the accused were questioned, they admitted that they wanted to sell the powder. They said that they had purchased the powder from Anush Mane.
The police have seized goods worth ₹3.24 lakh including MD powder and four mobiles. The police are carrying out a probe.
