Pune: In a bid to prevent potential accidents and loss of life, the Bhor Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Rajendra Kachre, has issued a prohibitory order in the Madhe Ghat waterfall area of Kelad-Bhordi village, located in Velha taluka. The order strictly prohibits the lowering of tourists through ropes for the next 60 days in the cascading waterfall.

The Madhe Ghat waterfall area is a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors with its breathtaking natural beauty and flowing waters. However, due to its rainfed nature, some organizations and organizers have been taking extreme risks by releasing tourists from the upper part of the waterfall to the valley below using ropes of 200 to 300 feet.

Considering the high possibility of accidents and loss of life in such risky endeavors, the Magistrate has taken the decisive step to halt these activities in the area. The prohibitory order aims to safeguard the safety and well-being of both tourists and organizers.

The order explicitly warns that strict legal action will be taken against any organizers and participating tourists who defy this order. Violators will be prosecuted under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) 1908, Disaster Management Act 2005, and relevant sections of the Forest Act.

The prohibition comes as a timely measure to ensure that visitors can continue to enjoy the natural wonder of Madhe Ghat waterfall without endangering their lives. Tourists are urged to adhere to the order and refrain from engaging in any unauthorized activities that put their safety at risk.
