The primary objective of this endeavor is to significantly enhance the overall customer experience, and the public’s valuable suggestions are invited to further enrich the planned improvements.

The proposed enhancements encompass a wide range of improvements, including the construction of additional foot over bridges where needed, installation of lifts and escalators, optimization of circulation and traffic areas, renovation of station façades, upgrading of waiting halls and toilets, implementation of enhanced lighting systems, installation of new train indicator boards and coach indication boards, and improved vehicle parking areas. Additionally, the project aims to extend platform covers for the convenience of passengers.

The selected stations for redevelopment are strategically located and include prominent locations such as Kolhapur SCSMT, Talegaon, Akurdi, Hadapsar, Chinchwad, Satara, Sangli, Karad, Hathkanangle, Baramati, Dehuroad, Kedgaon, Uruli, Lonand, Wathar, and Phaltan.

To encourage public participation and gather valuable inputs, Central Railway has provided a list of stations and their corresponding Twitter hashtags for submitting suggestions. Stakeholders can send their ideas to [email protected] or [email protected], or share their thoughts on Twitter by tagging @drmpune and using the relevant station’s hashtag from the provided list.

The deadline for submitting suggestions is set for August 15, 2023. However, Central Railway remains open to considering feedback received after this date based on the progress of ongoing work. Active participation from the public is strongly encouraged to shape the future of these railway stations, ensuring they become more convenient, accessible, and efficient for all passengers. By embracing valuable suggestions, Central Railway aims to create a transformative railway experience for all commuters.
