Presidential Salute: NDA’s 145th Course Gears Up for Grand Passing-Out Parade

As the National Defence Academy (NDA) prepares for its historic 145th Passing Out Parade (POP) on November 30, President Droupadi Murmu, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, is set to review the milestone event. This year’s parade holds special significance as the premier tri-services academy approaches its 75th foundation anniversary in January.

Celebrating 75 Years of Excellence: NDA’s Grand Passing-Out Parade

The Passing Out Parade of the 145th course at NDA is a hallmark military event, symbolizing the culmination of three years of rigorous training. The teaser released by the office of the Public Relations Officer (PRO), Defence, Pune, invites anticipation for the momentous occasion, stating, “Get ready to witness the Passing Out Parade of the 145th NDA course on 30th Nov 2023. The parade will be reviewed by Smt Droupadi Murmu, Honourable President of India.”

Presidential Inspection and Awards Ceremony

President Murmu will inspect the parade line-up, address the cadets, and present medals to the outstanding achievers. The ceremony holds great significance as cadets from NDA, known as the cradle of India’s military leadership, embark on a new phase of their military careers.

Post-NDA Journey: Pre-Commissioning Training

Following their time at NDA, the cadets proceed to one more year of pre-commissioning training at their respective Armed Forces academies—the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, Kerala; the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun for the Army; and the Air Force Academy in Dundigal, Telangana.

Gender Inclusivity and Breaking Barriers

In June last year, NDA welcomed its first batch of female cadets, marking a historic stride towards gender inclusivity. The academy emphasized conducting training in a ‘gender-neutral’ manner. The 145th POP follows the participation of women cadets in various roles during the 144th course’s ceremony, a testament to their integration into this revered institution.

Looking Ahead: Nurturing Future Military Leaders

As the 145th course prepares to pass out, the legacy of the NDA continues to shape the future leaders of the Indian Armed Forces. The event reflects the academy’s commitment to excellence, tradition, and the ongoing evolution towards a more inclusive and diverse military leadership.
