Pune: Yesterday, a shocking incident occurred at Karve Nagar in which a person who came to rescue his friend was violently hit by a few accused with broking glass bottles in his head. In this regard, the Warje police registered a case against three people and apprehended one of them.
In this regard, Akshay Bharat Zende, 28, a resident of Bijli Chowk, Kakade Palace, Karve Nagar, filed a police complaint against Suraj Raju Jadhav, Akshay Sawant, and Sonya Pinjare at Warje Police Station. All the accused are residents of Karve Nagar.
As per the complaint filed by Zende, yesterday, on January 15, his friend, Swapnil Marne, was seated in the Chandani Bar in Karve Nagar. At that time, the accused started heckling Marne, resulting in a little argument between them. As the altercation grew and the accused called his other accomplices to assault Marne, he called the plaintiff to come to his rescue.
When the plaintiff reached the spot, one of the accused abused the plaintiff and pushed him aside. The accused further unleashed a heavy assault on the plaintiff and his friend, with the intention of killing them. The accused broke a wine bottle made of glass in their heads, causing serious injuries to them.
After the attack, the plaintiff filed a police complaint against the accused. Accordingly, police booked all three accused and detained Suraj Jadhav in the investigation. Police booked all the accused under sections 307, 397, 323, 504, 506, and 34 of the IPC, along with the Maharashtra Police Act.
Assistant Police Inspector Patil of Warje Police Station is conducting further investigation.
