Power Interruption Alert: Scheduled Maintenance to Affect Viman Nagar, Lohgaon, and Yerwada Residents

Pune residents in Viman Nagar, Lohgaon, and Yerwada may experience a temporary power outage tomorrow as the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) conducts essential pre-scheduled maintenance on the Kharadi 132 KV ultra-high-voltage substation. The substation will remain closed from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday, December 23, to facilitate necessary repairs.

Despite the maintenance work, Mahapareshan has assured that alternative arrangements have been put in place during this period to ensure minimal impact on power supply in the Nagar Road area.

The Kharadi 132 KV High Voltage Substation plays a crucial role in supplying power to various areas, including Khulewadi, Viman Nagar, Sopannagar, Kolte Patil Phase 1 to 4, Yerwada, Shastri Nagar, and several other localities. The maintenance work has become imperative for the smooth functioning of the sub-center’s systems, leading to the decision to carry out repairs on Saturday.

During the maintenance window, Mahavitaran will manage 34 megawatts of electricity through load management in collaboration with Mahapareshan. Alternative power supply arrangements will be activated through Mahavitaran’s five 22 KV power lines, ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply.

While technical planning for alternative power supply has been completed, Mahavitaran emphasizes that if any of the five power lines fails during the maintenance, an alternative facility may not be available, potentially leading to power outages in the affected areas. In such cases, affected consumers will be promptly informed via SMS.

Mahavitaran and Mahapareshan urge electricity consumers in the concerned areas to cooperate during this planned maintenance period.
