Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML)

Pune: In a move aimed at enhancing transportation accessibility in rural areas beyond the city limits, the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has unveiled plans to introduce daily and monthly passes for the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) region. This decision represents an extension of the existing pass system, which was previously available only within the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) boundaries.

Officials have outlined the pricing structure for these passes, with the daily pass for unlimited travel within the PMRDA region available at a cost of Rs 120, while the monthly pass can be obtained for Rs 2,700. This decision to broaden the pass system to encompass the PMRDA region was reached during an executive committee meeting of the PMPML.

Presently, PMPML offers daily passes for unlimited travel within the Pune Municipal Corporation jurisdiction at a rate of Rs 40, while the monthly pass is priced at Rs 900. For commuters who wish to travel within both Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporation limits, a daily pass is available for Rs 50, and the monthly pass costs Rs 1,200. It is worth noting that these existing passes will continue to be available alongside the newly introduced PMRDA region passes.

To obtain these passes, commuters can visit PMPML’s Pass Centers, where they are required to submit a copy of their ID proof along with a passport-sized photograph to secure their PMPML identity card. Commencing from September 4, these pass services for the PMRDA region will be available to commuters at all PMPML Pass Centers, as confirmed by officials.

This initiative aims to facilitate affordable and convenient transportation options for residents residing in the PMRDA region, promoting better connectivity and mobility within Pune and its surrounding areas.
