PMC Takes Decisive Action: Unauthorized Constructions Demolished in Pune’s Deccan Area

In a relentless effort to combat unauthorized constructions within the city, the Building Development Department of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has undertaken a significant operation targeting several establishments in the Deccan area.

The enforcement action encompassed Skol Kitchen and Bar on Bhandarkar Road, Bharat Bazaar, Cafe Story Al Iran, and Cafe Street Bin Coffee, all situated in close proximity to Kamala Nehru Park.

Throughout the operation, a substantial 3,100 square feet of unauthorized construction was systematically dismantled. This included the removal of makeshift sheds, constructed from bamboo, sheet metal, iron angles, and unauthorized rooms erected using similar materials.

The operation was executed under the vigilant oversight of Executive Engineer Bipin Shinde, with unwavering support from Deputy Engineer Sunil Kadam, Branch Engineer Rahul Rasale, and Junior Engineer Samir Gadhai. To facilitate the demolition process, a team of ten skilled laborers, equipped with a gas cutter, was deployed. Local law enforcement personnel were also present throughout the operation to ensure its smooth execution.

Deputy Engineer Sunil Kadam underscored the PMC’s commitment to maintaining the city’s safety and upholding stringent building regulations through the continued crackdown on unauthorized constructions.
