PMC Allocates Rs 7 Crore for Replacement of Damaged Stormwater Line During Pune Metro Construction

Pune, 15th July 2023: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) is set to invest approximately Rs 7 crore to replace a stormwater line that was damaged during the ongoing construction of the Pune Metro. According to PMC officials, the construction work has resulted in multiple instances of damage to stormwater lines throughout the city. One such incident occurred between the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and Bund Garden, necessitating the replacement of the damaged line.

Although PMC officials state that the cost will be later reimbursed by Maha Metro, the PMC will initially utilize its own funds for the replacement. The officials further assert that the damaged stormwater lines have contributed to waterlogging in various parts of the city.

Reports indicate that Metro officials have refuted the allegations, stating that the Metro construction work was carried out in the middle of the road, while the stormwater lines are positioned at the corners.
