Pimpri: Pimpri Chinchwad police commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey issued dismissal orders for two police officers on Monday. Furthermore, in a separate incident, he also suspended a police sub-inspector of the Pimpri-Chinchwad police force from service in light of his alleged involvement in drug trafficking.
This order has been issued by the police commissioner on the backdrop of a recent police action in which Pimpri Chinchwad police confiscated a 44 kg, 790 gm mephedrone drug. The total value of this huge stash of drugs is valued at 44 crore, 79 lakh, and 80 thousand rupees.
In the well-planned anti-drug trafficking operation, police have successfully apprehended the prime culprit, who was selling mephedrone drugs in the Pimple Nilakh and Rakshak Chowk areas. When he was subsequently interrogated by the police after his detention, he revealed the alleged involvement of police sub-inspector Vikas Shelke’s involvement in his business of drug peddling, with whom he was doing this business in Pimpri Chinchwad.
In the following investigation, Shelke, who was working at Nigdi Police Station, was found accused in the case, and he was remanded to seven days of police custody. In the latest incident, the police commissioner suspended him from police service until further notice.
Similarly, in the same order, the police commissioner has also dismissed two police officers working at Dehu Road Police Station from government service. A few days ago, two policemen from Dehurod police station threatened to imprison a college youth in a false case of possession of an illicit drug. After that, the student was abducted and extorted a ransom of five lakhs from his father.
In this case, police personnel Hemant Gaikwad and Sachin Shejal were suspended earlier. But yesterday, they were finally dismissed from government service.
