Primpri Chinchwad: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has witnessed an administrative change with the transfer of Additional Commissioner Jitendra Wagh. In his place, Vijay Kumar Khorate, Deputy Commissioner of Solapur Municipal Corporation, has been appointed as the new Additional Commissioner.
The order regarding the transfer was issued by Priyanka Kulkarni-Chapwale, Deputy Secretary to the Government. The PCMC has three positions for Additional Commissioners, with two officials serving on deputation and one for the promotion of municipal officers. Jitendra Wagh, who assumed the role of Additional Commissioner on September 21, 2021, has had his deputation terminated by the state’s urban development department. As a result, he has been transferred back to his original department, the revenue and forest department.
Taking Wagh’s place, Vijaykumar Khorate, who belongs to the Chief Officer cadre, has been appointed as the new Additional Commissioner. Khorate has previously worked as an Assistant Commissioner in the PCMC, bringing valuable experience to his new role. It is worth noting that the PCMC had requested the government to appoint a chartered officer as an additional commissioner, but the appointment of an officer from the chief officer cadre has been made instead.
In the midst of these changes, Additional Commissioner Pradeep Jambhale has been assigned the additional responsibility of the State Tax Department, while Municipal Secretary Ulhas Jagtap has been given the additional charge of Additional Commissioner.
