Panic at Pune Airport: Senior Citizen Booked for Spreading False Bomb Rumor

Viman Nagar, 4th August 2023: Pune City Police have taken strict action against a 72-year-old woman who allegedly created panic by spreading false rumours about bombs at the Pune international airport. The incident, which occurred at the frisking booth inside the airport premises on August 3, resulted in the elderly woman being booked under sections 505 and 182 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The FIR was filed based on a complaint from CISF constable Dipali Zawre (33), who was on official duty at the time. According to the complaint, the accused woman, who hails from Gurgaon, purportedly claimed, “Mere Charo Taraf Bomb Laga Hai,” leading to a sense of fear and anxiety among the airport staff and passengers.

The Pune City Police took immediate action to investigate the matter and have booked the woman for her alleged offences. The case is now being handled by Police Sub Inspector SR Karpe, who is leading the ongoing investigation.
