No Toll Fees for Ganesh Festival: RTO Pune Extends Relief to Konkan Travelers

Pune, Maharashtra – In a move to ease the financial burden on citizens traveling to the Konkan region during the Ganesh Festival, the state government has introduced free toll exemption passes. These passes, which ensure a hassle-free journey, can be obtained from nearby police stations and the Regional Transport Office (RTO). The RTO Pune has taken an additional step by setting up a distribution center at the Sangamwadi office, urging citizens to secure their passes to avoid paying toll charges during their pilgrimage to Konkan for the Ganesh festival.

RTO officials have confirmed that citizens can also obtain these passes from nearby police stations. According to the state government’s decision, toll charges will be waived for citizens traveling to the Konkan region to celebrate the festival between September 16 and October 1. To obtain these passes, citizens are required to submit the necessary vehicle documents, as specified by the RTO officials.

The passes will be available for collection at the RTO office every day from 9:45 am to 6:15 pm until October 1. Additionally, citizens can also acquire them on Saturdays and Sundays. This decision to provide passes for toll exemption for vehicles was enacted on September 15. Furthermore, according to the notification, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) buses are also exempt from toll charges during this period.

This initiative aims to make the Ganesh Festival celebrations more accessible and affordable for citizens, allowing them to partake in the festivities without the added financial burden of toll charges while traveling to Konkan.
