New rail terminal will be built near Pune railway station

PUNE: Many people travel by local trains on the Pune-Lonavala route. Now, an important decision has been taken for rail passengers travelling from Pune station. Because of this decision, new trains can be started. Sangam Bridge is located near Pune railway station and the Indian Railways own land in the area.

A new terminal is going to be built in this place. The Mumbai Rail Vikas Corporation has finalised this location and shooting was carried out by using drones. The number of local trains on Pune-Lonavala route have increased. Hence, the work of constructing a third and fourth line is going on. At the same time, a new terminal will be built.

The new project will be set up near RTO and it will involve an expenditure of ₹200 crore. Two hundred trains pass through Pune station every day and 1.5 lakh people travel on a daily basis. Thirty four trips of Pune-Lonavala local trains take place every day. After the new terminal is started, the burden on the Pune railway station will reduce.
