Pune, Khadakwasla, 29th November 2023: The Habibullah Hall of the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla, Pune, witnessed a momentous occasion as 204 cadets from the 145th course were conferred degrees during the Convocation Ceremony. The Chief Guest, Prof (Dr) Suresh W Gosavi, Vice Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune, commended the cadets for their dedication and honored their academic achievements.
The degrees, conferred by Jawaharlal Nehru University, were distributed across various streams. Cadet Ram Prasad Gurjar of Quebec Squadron excelled in the Science Stream, securing the Commandant’s Silver Medal and COAS Rolling Trophy. Cadet Pratham Singh of Golf Squadron stood out in the Computer Science Stream, earning the Commandant’s Silver Medal and the Admiral’s Rolling Trophy. Cadet Vikram Singh of Kilo Squadron topped the Social Science Stream, receiving the Commandant’s Silver Medal and CAS Trophy. In the B.Tech stream, Cadet Kunal Panghal of Oscar Squadron displayed exceptional performance, securing the Commandant’s Silver Medal and CISC Trophy.
Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar, AVSM, NM, Commandant, NDA, expressed pride in the achievements of the cadets and emphasized the significance of their training at one of the world’s premier military academies. The Chief Guest acknowledged the hard work and commitment of the cadets, extending gratitude to the parents who supported their children in joining this esteemed ‘Tri Services’ training institute of the Indian Armed Forces.
The convocation also saw 21 cadets from friendly foreign countries receiving degrees, further strengthening the academy’s international ties. Additionally, 133 cadets from the B.Tech stream, representing the Navy and Air Force, received ‘three years course completion’ certificates, paving the way for their degree conferral after completing one year of specialized training at the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, and Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, respectively.
As the ceremony concluded, the atmosphere was charged with a sense of accomplishment and anticipation for the bright futures that await these young officers in the service of their nation.
