Nanded City Scandal: Residents Unite Against PMC’s Tax Deception

In a startling revelation, former corporator Ujjwal Keskar has exposed what he alleges to be a significant scam orchestrated by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The controversy centers around the announcement of a 40 percent property tax discount for residents of Nanded City Township, contingent upon the completion of the PT 3 application form. However, Keskar claims that there is no need for residents to fall into this purported trap.

According to Keskar’s Facebook page, he contends, “This is just a ploy for the inconvenience of citizens as the PMC Tax Department has proposed filling PT 3 form for property tax discount for residents of Nanded City.” Allegedly, property tax bills with a 66% concession have already been dispatched to Nanded City residents, leaving the remaining amount to be paid. Keskar asserts that the Pune Municipal Corporation has not provided any services to the residents of Nanded City, making the alleged discount seem dubious.

Former opposition leader Suhas Kulkarni and ex-corporator Prashant Badhe have joined Keskar in urging citizens not to succumb to this perceived ploy. They emphasize that filling out the PT 3 form implies agreement with the terms laid out by the PMC. Instead, residents are encouraged to unite and register objections with the Pune Municipal Corporation against what they believe to be a deceptive and potentially fraudulent initiative.

To facilitate the submission of PT-3 forms, two PMC officers will be available at the Nanded Gram Panchayat office on December 23-24 and December 30-31, from 10 am to 6 pm. The PMC has explicitly requested citizens to include proof of residency when submitting the forms. The property tax discount of 40% will be granted only if the PT-3 form is filled out with the requisite residency proof.
