In a distressing turn of events, a 25-year-old patient, admitted to the Regional Mental Hospital in Yerawada, was discovered lifeless within the hospital premises on Tuesday. The patient had been transferred to the Regional Mental Hospital from Sassoon General Hospital just two days before the tragic incident. He was accommodated in barrack 7 of the hospital. Preliminary investigations have led the police to suspect that this is a case of suicide, as the deceased was found hanging from a pant tied to the window grill in his room. The autopsy report has further indicated that the cause of death was likely suicide.
