Mystery Surrounds Patient’s Death at Yerawada Mental Hospital

In a distressing turn of events, a 25-year-old patient, admitted to the Regional Mental Hospital in Yerawada, was discovered lifeless within the hospital premises on Tuesday. The deceased was found hanging in his room, and local authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his sudden demise.

The patient had been transferred to the Regional Mental Hospital from Sassoon General Hospital just two days before the tragic incident. He was accommodated in barrack 7 of the hospital. Preliminary investigations have led the police to suspect that this is a case of suicide, as the deceased was found hanging from a pant tied to the window grill in his room. The autopsy report has further indicated that the cause of death was likely suicide.

Following a postmortem examination, the body was handed over to the deceased’s grieving family members. Officials from the Yerawada Police Station are actively pursuing a thorough investigation to shed light on the circumstances that led to this tragic event.

This incident has left the community with many unanswered questions, and the investigation will play a pivotal role in uncovering the truth behind this heartbreaking occurrence.
