Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A truck transporting a substantial cargo of 950 boxes of foreign liquor worth Rs 60 lakhs, originating from United Spirits Ltd in MIDC, Chikalthana, has mysteriously vanished while on its way to Pune.
The incident has sparked concerns as the truck driver, identified as Akshay Prakash Sakat from Ahmednagar, and the truck owner, Kishore Maruti Paddune from Bajajnagar, reportedly strayed from the designated route. This unexpected deviation has led to a state of uncertainty surrounding the current location of the truck and the valuable cargo it was carrying. In response, Rajendra Vijayvargiya, the owner of the transport business, has lodged a formal complaint, resulting in the initiation of legal action against both the truck driver and owner at the MIDC Cidco police station.
As per the complaint lodged by Vijayvargiya, the truck had been assigned the task of delivering the foreign liquor to the Valvekar Sons Nath warehouse in Pune on August 9. However, as of the afternoon on August 10, the consignment had not reached its intended destination. Vijayvargiya attempted to contact the truck driver, who allegedly explained his absence by citing a relative’s illness in Ahmednagar. Upon sending an employee to verify this claim, it became evident that the truck was not present at the reported location.
Further investigation revealed that the truck owner, Kishore Maruti Paddune, offered a similar explanation to the driver’s, creating a puzzling scenario as the consignment of liquor remained unaccounted for. In response to the mounting uncertainty, Vijayvargiya lodged a formal complaint with the MIDC Cidco police station, prompting law enforcement to launch a search operation to locate both the truck and its occupants.
The mysterious disappearance of the truck carrying a substantial quantity of foreign liquor has left authorities and the transport business owner on high alert, highlighting the need for swift action to resolve the perplexing situation and recover the valuable cargo.
