MSRTC driver killed in mishap after tempo rams into stationary bus on Nashik-Pune highway

ALE PHATA: The driver of a MSRTC bus was killed when a speeding tempo rammed into a stationary bus which had got punctured, on the Pune-Nashik highway. The driver was putting a jack to remove the puncture of a tyre and the mishap took place on Saturday at 3.55 am at 19 mile Nandurkhandarmal in Sangamner taluka on the Pune-Nashik highway.

The deceased has been identified as Mayur Ananda Mundhe (45), a resident of Nashik. The accident took place in the limits of Ghargaon police station limits in Sangamner taluka. The bus conductor, Sandip Namdev Khode, a resident of Nashik district, has lodged a complaint at the Ale Phata police station in Pune district.

A speeding Eicher tempo (HR 47 E4078), which was proceeding to Pune from Nashik, rammed into a punctured MSRTC bus (MH20 BL 4094). Driver Mundhe, who was removing the puncture, was seriously injured. Conductor Khode informed the driver of Navapur-Pune bus Arun Shelar about the accident and had asked him to come to the accident spot.

After Shelar arrived, Mundhe was taken to Mauli Hospital at Ale Phata in the bus. However, he was declared dead on arrival.
