MSEDCL Aims to Provide Temporary Connections to Ganesh Mandals in Pune

Pune : As the festive fervor of Ganesh Chaturthi approaches, the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) is gearing up to ensure seamless power supply for the upcoming celebrations. A comprehensive review meeting was recently conducted by Chief Engineer Rajendra Pawar of MSEDCL in the Pune division to assess the state of preparedness.

During the meeting, Chief Engineer Pawar directed MSEDCL officials to make necessary arrangements to provide temporary electricity connections to Ganesh mandals on a priority basis. The emphasis is on facilitating the smooth conduct of the festivities while addressing any potential power-related issues that may arise. Cooperation with Ganesh Mandals has been stressed upon, including assisting them with online applications for temporary connections.

Furthermore, the MSEDCL staff has been entrusted with the responsibility of inspecting the transformers that will be employed to establish new connections for the festival. The condition of infrastructure and transformers along the routes of the immersion processions is also being carefully examined, with a focus on carrying out repairs wherever necessary.

Chief Engineer Pawar highlighted the importance of safety in providing these temporary connections. He stressed the need for minimizing joints in the wires to prevent any incidents and ensure a smooth flow of electricity during the festivities. Additionally, he underlined the significance of a separate neutral connection for generators, especially to mitigate the risk of electrical accidents arising from power supply interruptions.

The MSEDCL officials also pointed out that continuous heavy rainfall and strong winds during the monsoon season could potentially impact the safety of public lighting installations at pandals (temporary structures). Therefore, public Ganesh Mandals have been urged to conduct regular inspections to ensure the integrity of electrical installations and prevent any hazardous situations.

As the Ganesh Festival holds immense cultural and religious significance in Pune, the MSEDCL’s proactive approach towards providing safe and reliable electricity connections reflects its commitment to facilitating a joyous and secure celebration for all citizens.
