MNGL Slashes CNG Prices, Offering Significant Savings in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, and Adjacent Areas

In a move towards promoting environmentally friendly fuel options, City Gas Distribution (CGD) company Maharashtra Natural Gas Ltd (MNGL) has announced a noteworthy reduction in the retail selling price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) in Pune city, including Pimpri-Chinchwad, and the surrounding areas of Chakan, Talegaon, and Hinjawadi. The price adjustment, effective from the midnight of 5th/6th March 2024, sees a reduction of Rs. 2.50 per KG, inclusive of taxes, bringing the revised CNG retail selling price down from Rs. 86.0 per KG to Rs. 83.50 per KG.

This substantial reduction positions MNGL’s CNG as a highly cost-effective alternative, offering attractive savings of around 50% and 30% compared to petrol and diesel, respectively, in the current price scenario in Pune city for the passenger car segment. Additionally, MNGL’s CNG presents over 30% in savings for autorickshaws, making it a financially prudent choice.

The decision to cut CNG prices aligns with MNGL’s commitment to promoting the use of natural gas as a preferred and eco-friendly fuel. MNGL has been actively participating in the ‘National PNG Drive’ initiated across the country since January 26, 2024. The drive aims to improve the penetration of Natural Gas, and MNGL’s reduction in Domestic PNG Prices has already garnered positive responses, with increased registrations and conversions for Domestic PNG.

Taking inspiration from the success of the domestic sector, MNGL extends its efforts to enhance the attractiveness of CNG as a preferred fuel among end consumers. With operations in six geographical areas, including Pune, MNGL’s decision to reduce CNG prices is a strategic move to further the adoption of clean and sustainable energy options.
