FLY91 Cleared for Takeoff: Goa-Based Airline Receives Air Operator Certificate, Prepares for Launch

In a significant development, Goa-based regional airline FLY91, operated by Just Udo Aviation Pvt Ltd, has received the coveted Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This milestone marks the successful completion of all regulatory requirements, positioning FLY91 to initiate commercial operations in the near future.

FLY91 recently marked another milestone with the acquisition of its first aircraft, an ATR 72-600 leased from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise. The airline, committed to promoting regional air connectivity, has secured routes under the government’s UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik) regional air connectivity scheme.

With a focus on enhancing connectivity to tier-2 and tier-3 cities, FLY91 plans to connect locations such as Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Nanded in Maharashtra, and Agatti in Lakshadweep. Notably, FLY91 is the first Indian airline to make Goa’s Manohar International Airport its home base.

Led by industry veteran Manoj Chacko and backed by investor Harsha Raghavan’s Convergent Finance, which has pledged ₹200 crore for the project, FLY91 aims to revolutionize regional aviation by providing competitive airfares for routes that typically take 8-12 hours by road or rail.

In addition to its domestic focus, FLY91 has a broader ambition to extend its network to 50 cities over the next five years. The airline’s strategic approach includes global collaborations, positioning itself as a last-mile connectivity provider alongside other carriers.
