PUNE: MLA Siddharth Shirole told media persons on Wednesday that he was constantly reviewing the road widening work of the old Mumbai-Pune highway and the traffic problems in Khadki area will be resolved soon.
Because of the road widening work, there are huge traffic jams on the roads going to the Khadki area. MLA Shirole had detailed discussions with officials regarding the removal of obstructions.
The road from Bopodi Chowk to All Saints School will be thrown open to two, three and four-wheelers for two-way traffic from September 1, 2023. Since it is going to take two to two and a half months for the completion of the metro work on the road from Khadki Elphinstone Road towards the old Pune-Mumbai highway, permission will be given for movement of heavy vehicles. Shirole said that this will solve the traffic problems in the Khadki area. Eighty per cent of the road widening work has been completed and the remaining work will be completed in three to four months, he said.
