Mishap again near Navle Bridge: Container carrying coal overturns

PUNE: A container turned turtle on the Bhumkar Bridge near the Navle Bridge in Narhe area on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway at 10.30 am. The container was loaded with coal and was proceeding towards Mumbai. There was no loss of life in the accident.

According to available information, the container broke the divider and toppled over in the opposite lane and the coal pieces have spread on the highway. Many onlookers have gathered on the spot. The driver of the container was injured in the accident and he has been admitted to a private hospital for treatment.

According to reports, the container broke the divider and got dragged for a distance of 100 metres in the opposite lane. Officials of Sinhagad Transport Department have arrived at the spot and there is a huge traffic jam in the area. The police are making efforts to streamline the traffic.
