Vadiwale: The recent heavy rains have caused significant disruption in the Vadiwale village area as the alternative road, constructed by filling the river bed near the newly built bridge, was washed away on Thursday night. This has resulted in the isolation of eight villages in the vicinity. Budhwadi, Vadivale, Nesave, Khandshi, Valkh, Velhavli, Sangise, and Umbarwadi villages of the taluka are among those affected.
Currently, the condition of the alternative route that connects these eight villages to Kamshet town is in a deplorable state, forcing locals to take a longer route via Mundhavare through Valkha, which is an unpaved muddy road. Timely repair of this alternative route is crucial. Unfortunately, the Maharashtra Rural Road Development Organization has overlooked this pressing issue, leaving citizens with no choice but to travel an additional 15 to 20 kilometers from Govitri to Kamshet via Umbarwadi.
The construction of a 75-meter-long bridge on the Indrayani river in Vadiwale village is part of the Chief Minister Gram Sadak Yojana. The estimated cost of the bridge is 5 crore 85 lakh 41 thousand rupees, and the project is being carried out under the supervision of the Maharashtra Rural Road Development Association in Pune.
Engineer Uddhav Dhapse from the Rural Road Development Institute expressed concern over the situation and urged authorities to address the issue promptly to restore connectivity to the affected villages.
The residents of these eight villages are eagerly awaiting the repair of the alternative road, which will alleviate their difficulties and restore normalcy to their daily lives
