Market Yard in Pune to Remain Closed on Independence Day

Pune, 11th August 2023: In observance of India’s 77th Independence Day, Pune’s Market Yard situated at Gultekdi will remain closed on Monday, August 15. This announcement of closure was made by the Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) speaker.

The closure will extend beyond the main wholesale market at Market Yard. Sub-markets located in Moshi, Manjari, Uttam Nagar, and Khadki will also be shut on the same day. Additionally, various sections within the Market Yard complex, including fruits and vegetables, the banana market, cattle market, jaggery and food grain sections, estate operations, storage facilities, printing and stationary services, weighing centers, the petrol pump, floriculture, betel nut trade, soil-water testing, and the FDA laboratory, will remain non-operational.

Farmers are strongly advised not to bring their produce to the Market Yard on this day. Traders, agents, and all stakeholders are requested to take note of this temporary arrangement and plan their activities accordingly.

The closure on Independence Day serves as a tribute to the nation’s freedom struggle and reflects the unity of the market community in commemorating this significant day in India’s history.
