Major Crackdown on Illegal Gas Cylinder Operations in Pune: Goods Worth Rs 35 Lakh Seized

In a significant move against the illegal transportation and storage of gas cylinders, the Foodgrains Distribution Office Pune conducted a raid on Wednesday, January 31st, at More Vasti, Chikhali, Pimpri Chinchwad. The operation targeted Mama Gas Service Agency, resulting in the seizure of goods valued at Rs 35 lakh 73 thousand 545. Foodgrain Distribution Officer Dadasaheb Gite provided details about the successful action.

During the raid, authorities confiscated four large vehicles, 105 gas-filled cylinders, and 602 empty cylinders belonging to Hindustan Petroleum Company. The operation led to the detention of Bhikchand Hiralal Katre, the accused in this case.

Bhikchand Katre faces charges under Sections 420, 285, 286 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), along with Sections 3 and 7 of the Essential Commodities Act 1955 and Sections 3 to 7 of the Liquified Petroleum Gas (regulation of Supply and Distribution) Order 2000.

This operation was executed by Officer Sachin Kale, Supply Inspector Snehal Gaikwad, Amol Hade, Police Sub-Inspector Dattatray More, highlighting the collaborative effort to combat illegal practices in the transportation and storage of gas cylinders.
