Maha Metro Unveils Innovative Strategies to Boost Revenue on Pune Metro Lines

Maha Metro Implements Creative Advertising Tactics to Enhance Revenue Streams

Pune News : Maha Metro, the authority overseeing Pune Metro’s Line 1 and Line 2, has revealed plans to augment revenue through inventive branding and advertising strategies. By focusing on non-ticket fare revenue, Maha-Metro aims to secure sustainable additional income while providing opportunities for local businesses and advertisers in Pune.

Co-branding rights for several metro stations, including Nal Stop, Garware College, Phugewadi, Pune Railway Station, Ruby Hall Clinic, and Kalyani Nagar, have been allocated to advertisers. Furthermore, additional advertisement spaces both inside and outside the stations have been designated and assigned to contractors.

In a recent development, Maha-Metro issued a tender for licensing semi-naming rights, train wrapping, and advertisement rights for a 15-year period. This encompasses various spaces such as entry-exit points, walls, facades, piers, arches, foot-overbridges, and train sets, with the value of these rights varying from station to station.

Presently, Maha-Metro generates an annual revenue ranging from ₹55 to ₹72 lakh from stations on Line 2 and Line 1, serving a daily ridership of 80,000 to 85,000 passengers. The fare structure on the Vanaz to Ramwadi corridor ranges from ₹10 to ₹35, while on the PCMC to Civil Court corridor, it varies from ₹10 to ₹30. Construction is underway for Khadki, Budhwar Peth, Mandai, and Yerawada metro stations, with plans to make them operational within six months.

External advertisement areas in underground stations will soon be available on entry-exit structures, parking spaces, and designated areas.

With the expansion of advertising opportunities and the growing ridership on Pune Metro, Maha-Metro anticipates a significant surge in revenue in the forthcoming years.
