IRCTC Scam: Solapur Resident Arrested for Railway Ticket Fraud in Pune

Railway officials from the Solapur Division have taken legal action against an individual from Solapur for his alleged involvement in selling railway reservation tickets to customers through multiple personal IDs on the IRCTC website. The accused’s activities were brought to light when the Pune Division’s cyber cell detected suspicious behavior and alerted Solapur Division authorities.

The accused, identified as Raghunandan Satish Chitken (39) and a resident of Solapur, operated a shop named “Punya Shrivari Seva” in the city. Investigations revealed that he had been using six distinct personal IDs created on the IRCTC website to book reservation tickets, in addition to possessing one agent ID. It was further uncovered that he had sold numerous tickets to consumers through these IDs.

The accused has been charged under section 143 of The Railways Act for selling tickets acquired through personal IDs for commercial purposes. Authorities are actively conducting further inquiries into the case.
