Pune: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis shared a compelling vision for India’s economic future during the Viksit Bharat Ambassadors programme in Pune, stating that the nation is poised to become the world’s third-largest economy in the third term of the Modi government.

Fadnavis addressed the audience, highlighting the remarkable progress India has made in various sectors, attributing the success to transformative changes ranging from farmers’ welfare to technology advancements. He outlined a broad roadmap for the Centre’s ambitious Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative, emphasizing that India’s growth trajectory has already surpassed its contemporaries and is set to achieve greater milestones.

“In the third term of the Modi government, the country will grow further and become the third-largest economy,” Fadnavis declared. He pointed out that India, already the fifth-largest economy globally, has the potential to secure the third spot by 2027. The Deputy CM underscored the nation’s journey towards Mission 2047, expressing confidence in the firm establishment of goals and objectives that will propel India’s global standing.

During his address, Fadnavis credited the Modi government for lifting over 25 crore people out of poverty in the past five years. He highlighted the flourishing small and medium-scale industries, fostered by a business-friendly environment, and India’s consistent rise in growth and prosperity on the global stage. Fadnavis recognized the recognition India receives from international bodies, acknowledging the nation’s growing stature.

Invoking Maratha pride, Fadnavis emphasized Maharashtra’s role as a powerhouse that continues to contribute to Prime Minister Modi’s vision. The origin of the Viksit Bharat 2047 initiative was traced back to former President Abdul Kalam’s dream, finding the right direction under the Modi government in 2014.

Fadnavis spoke about the public schemes launched during Modi government 1.0 and 2.0, bringing significant changes to people’s lives. He highlighted Modi’s economic policies, setting in motion a growth trajectory that has consistently trended upward.

At the Viksit Bharat event, Fadnavis criticized previous Congress regimes for compromising the nation’s growth and urged citizens to participate in the ambitious initiative. The event aims to inspire people to become ‘Viksit Bharat Ambassadors’ and contribute to the nation’s growth story. Prime Minister Modi has previously appealed to citizens to join this people-driven movement, making Viksit Bharat 2047 a shared dream.
