Illegal Hookah Parlour Busted by Wanowrie Police on Salunke Vihar Rd; 4 Detained and Goods Worth Rs 44k Seized

In a significant development, the Wanowrie Police executed a raid on an illegal hookah parlour located on Salunkhe Vihar Road, resulting in the arrest of four individuals and the confiscation of hookah-related materials worth Rs 43,970.

According to details obtained from the First Information Report (FIR), the police took action against T House Cafe in Wanowrie based on information about the unlawful sale of hookah. Upon raiding the establishment, the Wanowrie Police discovered various hookah-related items, including hookah pots, square and round boxes, and a coal stove. Additionally, the raid revealed the presence of customers and an individual at the hookah counter.

The seized materials, valued at Rs 43,970, consisted of hookah pots, three square-shaped boxes, two round boxes, a coal stove, and more. The police detained four individuals identified as Sohail Rafiq Shaikh, Dipesh Krishna Pariyar, Vishal Santosh Pariyar, and Salman Sattar Shaikh during the operation.

Speaking with, Sandeep Salve, the Wanowrie Police officer, stated, “The four accused have been detained, and further investigation is ongoing.”

The Wanowrie Police has charged the accused under Sections 21A and 4A of The Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003.
