Health Hazards Loom as Eisha Pearl Society Residents Endure Contaminated Water Woes

In a distressing situation for residents of Eisha Pearl Society in Kondhwa, Pune, the issue of contaminated water supply to the toilets in their flats persists, giving rise to problems like foul odors and potential health hazards.

Amit Jain, a resident of Eisha Pearl Society, expressed his concerns, stating, “The water flowing through the toilet flush in my flat is so contaminated that it emits a horrendous smell. This is not just an isolated issue; several flats are grappling with the same problem. It poses a significant health risk, and many residents have fallen ill due to this. This problem has persisted for approximately two years. There was also a previous issue of impure drinking water, which led to various health problems for residents. Although that issue has been resolved, the problem of contaminated toilet water supply remains and is very severe.”

Karan Sarun, another resident, echoed similar sentiments, saying, “Our house’s flush and toilet emit a strong odor, and black-colored water is flowing into the flush. This is highly harmful and hazardous. It has been ongoing for quite some time, and we have reported it to the builder, but no action has been taken.”

Komal Jain added, “The flush water is completely contaminated. This problem has persisted for an extended period. The flush water emits an unbearable stench, and the water appears to be filled with dust. It’s utterly unpleasant. The builder has been notified about the issue, but no action has been taken.”

Sonal P, who has lived in the society for 1.5 years, shared her experience, saying, “Since I moved here, this issue of contaminated flush water has persisted. There is a pervasive smell, and we have reported the problem to the builder, but no action has been taken.”

Kiran Vora, another resident, voiced concerns, saying, “When we flush the toilet, a foul odor emanates from the flush water. This problem has persisted for a long time. We have complained to the builder, but there has been no resolution to this issue.”

Jayesh Jain, the builder of Eisha Pearl Society, provided some insight, stating, “Our sewage treatment plant (STP) is operational in the society, treating the water before supplying it to all the flats. Some time ago, a water supply line was damaged, and it has now been fixed. We will investigate the issue of contaminated flush water and work towards resolving it soon.”
